Frequently Asked Questions- How do I find out about plant positions?
Hourly positions are not on our website. Please contact the plant or facility where you wish to work or check with your state unemployment office. Click here for information about U.S. plants.
- I need to change my education or employment information in my profile. How can I do that?
You can't change your education or employment information once you have logged out. If you would like to create a new profile using the same email ID, follow these instructions.- Log in and go to your Message Center.
- Choose the option to update your email ID.
- Change your email ID to anything you like; this can be a throwaway email ID. For example, if your ID is JoeSmith@yahoo.com, you can change it to xJoeSmith@yahoo.com or JoeSmith@yahoo.test or discard@discard.test. Now your original ID, JoeSmith@yahoo.com, is available in our system.
- Log out.
- Register at mycareer.ford.com with your original ID, JoeSmith@yahoo.com.
- How do I register for jobs?
- Click View Today's Jobs.
- Do a job search.
- Add up to three jobs to your Job Pod.
- Enter your email address when we ask for your User ID, and a password of six or more characters. This begins your personal skills questionnaire, with information about your background and career interests.
- Once your questionnaire is complete, you can paste your resume. Your profile is active in our files for one year, and you can search our job bank at any time to register for new positions.
- When you return to our site, you can add new positions to your Job Pod and answer any extra questions. Please check back often!
- What if I forget my password?
If you can't remember your password or the answer to your "secret" question, contact us. We will try to reset your secret question and answer so you can return to your account. Because you own your password, we do not have access to it.
- When will I hear about the jobs I've applied for?
We'll notify you by e-mail if you're being considered for a position. If a position is no longer posted on our site, it is no longer open. We regret we cannot provide updates or notifications that you are not being considered for a position, but we receive several thousand profiles every week.
I'm having trouble with pages loading or I'm unable to fill out the questionnaire. Our site works best on a PC with Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher and with JavaScript enabled. Problems have been reported with some versions of Internet Explorer on the Macintosh and with some versions of AOL.
If trouble continues and you wish to contact us, it helps if you provide this information:- operating system and version
- browser and version
- type of Internet connection (Dial-up/DSL/Cable)
- text of error message
- approximate date and time error occurred
I can't get past the Education page If the advice in Question 7 does not solve your problem, you can skip the Education page: simply press NEXT to get to the next screen. After you finish the questionnaire, you can enter your resume, including your complete education information.
What should I do if my school is not in the drop-down menu? Please select 'Country' then skip over 'State' and choose 'Other school' from the school drop-down list.
How do I post my resume? Your resume is an important part of the information you provide. Once you complete our short questionnaire, we invite you to paste your resume into a text box on the screen.- In your word processing program, open your resume.
- Press Ctrl-A to select all the text.
- In your browser, click in the text box, where you will paste your resume.
- Press Ctrl-V to paste the text into the text box.
- You can update your resume whenever you return to the system and log in as a returning user.
How do I remove jobs from my "job pod"? Your job pod is just the short list of up to three jobs you carry per visit. You cannot remove jobs from the list in your account. They are simply a reference for you. If you are no longer interested in a job in your account, you can tell us if we contact you.
How do I send you my resume? Register for one or more of our current openings and add your resume to your file. Please do not email your resume.
